Elizabethtown Bainbridge Elementary School is a public elementary school for students in grades K-3 in the Bainbridge area of Elizabethtown PA. During the year, you will see and hear may things happening in our school. First and foremost, you will see and hear students learning many new things through instruction planned by our dedicated teachers. As you visit each classroom you will see students learning in many different ways as our teachers use differentiated instruction, hands on manipulatives, computer instruction, multiple intelligences, flexible grouping, guided reading, reading clinics, acceleration through previewing, essential questions, enrichment, extended day kindergarten and before school academic programs to help all students reach their maximum potential. You might participate in a classroom meeting where students and teachers make decisions and solve problems. You might hear a class talking about our school Code of Conduct or our Bully Buster program. As you walk outside on our playground, you will see a Butterfly Garden, an Environmental Trail and new playground equipment, including a fitness area. In our gym, you might see students strengthening their upper body as they traverse across our Climbing Wall. After school, you might participate in our P.E.P. or Big Brother/Big Sister programs.
Each year, we focus on helping students meet achievement expectations of the Pennsylvania State Standards Assessments (PSSA) and the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) federal legislation. Our mission statement, which is an extension of our District vision,
“Bainbridge Elementary will achieve success through open communication, team work and effective use of personnel within a positive school and community environment.”
guides us as we make instructional decisions to help students participate in a positive educational experience during their time spent at Bainbridge. All our staff members participate in helping students in this manner… from our special area teachers-art, music, physical education, technology and library; to our specialists – reading, instructional support, guidance, learning support, instrumental, gifted, math coordinator and nurse, to our support staff – instructional aides, reading assistants, math assistants, noontime aides, health room aide, custodians, secretary and cafeteria staff.
Notice that our mission statement includes mention of not only our school community but also our community at large. We are fortunate to work hand in hand with a very active PTO. They join with us in our commitment to help the students at Bainbridge achieve in a positive atmosphere. Their generosity is evident and greatly appreciated!
