Public sewer service is provided in many areas of the Township by the Suburban Lancaster Sewer Authority (SLSA). Properties not served by public sewer service utilize on-lot septic facilities which are the responsibility of the property owner. On-lot septic systems are regulated by the State Department of Environmental Protection and Township ordinances. Contact the Community Development Department at 464-8019 for questions about on-lot septic systems.
A Sewage Enforcement Officer (S.E.O.) is retained by the Township to assist property owners with on-lot septic system issues. Questions or concerns about existing or installing new septic systems should contact Marvin Stoner at 786-3205.
Questions regarding public sewer bills can answered by calling 560-1900. Also, properties on public sewer that experience problems such as sewer backup should first contact SLSA’s consulting engineers, Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. at 560-7500.
