The Virginia Historical Society in Richmond, VA holds the state's pre-eminent collection of manuscripts and objects telling the story of Virginia. By collecting, preserving, interpreting, and sharing our history we link past with present to inspire future generations.

The VMHC is currently closed for construction as we make strides to bring you a reimagined VMHC. The museum will remain closed to guests through early April 2021, but we will continue to offer a robust variety of virtual events and digital programs.
