Waccamaw Community Hospital, the newest hospital to join the Georgetown Hospital Family, opened in Murrells Inlet in November 2002. Waccamaw Community Hospital accommodates the needs of the population in the fast-growing northern section of the organization's current service area. Twenty-four hour emergency services, obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and medical/surgical units are available at the hospital. Critical Care Unit features the latest technology with patient/family convenience and comfort. A step-down pediatrics unit is also offered.
 
The facility provides imaging services with the latest comprehensive capabilities in radiology, ultrasound, X-ray, PET/CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and breast wire localization. Cardiopulmonary care services include EKG monitoring, vascular lab services, angioplasty expertise and respiratory therapy. The onsite lab provides hematology, chemistry, microbiology, histology, cytology, pathology and blood bank services.
 
Waccamaw Rehabilitation Center services including physical, occupational and speech therapy, are available to acute rehab inpatients.
