The Poughkeepsie NY Purchasing Department and Purchasing Agent coordinates the procurement of goods and services for the City. Working within the requirements set forth in General Municipal Law, Sections 103 and 104B, purchase requests are evaluated to determine the appropriate means for acquisition at the best price available. The process is accomplished by a number of different methods, from a straight purchase to price quotes, formal bids and requests for proposals.
