We are very excited to be in our fourth year of implementing the Americas Choice School Design. The Americas Choice School Design helps us focus on five critical elements of school improvement:
 1.Creating a standards-based system with assessments that monitor progress and inform instruction.
 2.Aligning instruction to standards and focusing teaching on moving students from where they are to where they need to be.
 3.Strengthening instructional leadership.
 4.Building professional learning communities.
 5.Engaging parents and the community.
 
The Americas Choice School Design is a coherent comprehensive design that offers exceptional materials and strategies with first rate coaching and professional development.
 We look forward to seeing parents and guardians throughout the school year and encourage you to become active participants in your childs education.

The mission of the Poughkeepsie Middle School community is to foster each childs intellectual, social and emotional development thereby enabling every child to become a productive, lifelong learner.
